Satellite TV for PC Software

By Jeff Franklin

Yes, you can get satellite TV directly on your computer in spite of what people say. There is a software program that aggregates these channels and all you have to have is a good computer and high speed Internet. With this, you can get over 4,000 channels - live video. I must tell you that this is powerful because where else can you get that choice with absolutely no monthly fees? Here's how.

The software I want to talk about is an aggregator software developed over the past few years specifically to bring the channels together at your fingertips so you can watch TV right on your PC. There are so many choices that you may find yourself getting addicted to watching TV this way, as I did. Because of the way the channels are linked there is no monthly fee. And you'd be interested to know that it is totally legal.

Satellite TV for PC software is totally legal because the channels allocated for this are already cleared for Internet broadcast. There is no illegal use of signals, no hacking. This software is free of viruses and spyware and I found something else of interest - it comes in many different options. Basically, the more money you pay, the better the software - more channels you get. The low end gets around 2,000 channels. And I should know.

I worked in radio and TV for over 15 years with my own show in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. We were given many things over the years to try and to look at. But this is one product that I don't know how I lived without. It lets me get those exciting soccer games that I grew up with in Brazil and I can tune into something of interest almost any time of day. And what a value!

This is getting to sound like a big commercial for this thing, and I don't want it to. Just an article to tell you that this is available and there are some keen comparison sites to help. For the price, it's a good value now. This software finds streaming TV video quickly and that's a time saver. But if you're thinking it's too complicated for you, think again.

I am not an expert when it comes to the PC. I call my buddy Dennis to do any installs, upgrades and the like. And even when a new item self-installs, he'll double check it. But this software, I installed myself and asked him to check. It was so easy I was feeling like I really knew what I was doing! But seriously, anyone can install this and you'll be watching TV in minutes. And one more item of interest.

If there is one thing I'd have to say about the software that allows you to watch some 4,000 channels on your PC, it would be that it is just simply convenient. As long as you have a high speed connection and this software, you're good to go. No TV cards or hardware - just the software and you can watch wherever you can take your PC and get a connection. This is so nice that I don't think it will be around long. They'll probably start making you pay a monthly fee to access.

One item that worries me is how little the software sells for. I just laid down about $150 for a mid end DVD player. This is much less, so I am most certain the price will jump in a bit. And when it does, it will still be very worth every cent to quickly find and display streaming TV right on my PC. I don't think it gets any better than that.
